Hotel X Toronto: A Luxury Boutique Experience Downtown Toronto

‘Comfort’, ‘service’, and ‘unique’: These are the words I used when I was put on the spot and asked to deliver three words to describe my experience at Hotel X Toronto.

Bedroom Views

Let’s be honest, a nice hotel can make all the difference when it comes to upping the R&R factor of a getaway…

But that being said, not all hotels know how to really nail the culture and attitude of their surrounding environments, while also maintaining a luxurious feel. This is why I could hardly contain myself when I was invited for a little staycation at the award-winning Library Hotel Collection’s newest establishment, Hotel X, located in downtown Toronto.

Although the hotel was in its ‘soft opening’ at the time of my attendance and was not completely finished with the final touches of its facilities, those of us who spent the night were provided with a detailed overview of the hotel and its lengthy list of amenities (both those already existing and those yet to come!).

My goal for this post is to provide you with a little insight into this brand new luxury experience available in Toronto, as well as hopefully provide a little inspo to visit this awesome city so close to my heart 😉

Location

The hotel is located within the iconic Princes’ Gates of downtown Toronto and is the only hotel in Ontario’s Exhibition Place. With easy access to major hot spots in the city and incredible views of Lake Ontario’s waterfront, local parks, Toronto Island, the CN Tower, and Toronto’s skyline, the location of this urban resort does not disappoint!

Address:

Rooms

So let’s chat crib space. With a variety of spacious rooms available, you’re sure to find something that more than tickles your fancy. Soft tones, elegant decor, 9′ high ceilings, and the incredible views of Toronto’s skyline or Lake Ontario are sure to make you feel at ease, with a perfect touch of spoiled. Booking a Library Club Collection room also comes with access to the Library Club Lounge, which includes a complimentary continental breakfast buffet as well as a wine and cheese reception — Uhmmm, yes, please.

Looking to kick it up another notch? Book with The Suite Collection where rooms are adorned with floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing (you guessed it) incredible views of Lake Ontario or Toronto’s skyline. These rooms also include spacious bathrooms with both a stand-alone tub (WIN) and a glass-encased shower. Granite countertops and deluxe bathroom amenities may add a unique factor, but what really did it for me, was the floor-to-ceiling window beside the toilet, with a view of the CN Tower… I mean, COME ON, who doesn’t appreciate a pee with a view?!

I loved the floor-to-ceiling windows

Oh yeah, and if you were hoping to bring the whole fam jam, including your little fur baby (or maybe just your fur baby), that’s cool because Hotel X Toronto is a pet-friendly establishment!

All rooms include complimentary wifi.

It’s about you. It’s about the view.

Hotel and Amenities

The hotel boasts incredible views from both its rooms and its three-story rooftop SkyBar. Did I mention the one rooftop SkyBar also has a pool? And that pool is only one of two available at the establishment. The hotel is also home to a 90,000 square-foot athletic centre which includes a gym, four indoor tennis courts and nine squash courts, a golf simulator, and rooms dedicated to pilates, yoga, and spin.

Looking for a cozy night in? They’ve also got two cinemas and their very own museum! Oh, and there’s also a spa on the way… HOLLAH 🙌

Taking in the view

Now, while it is in itself impressive that the hotel is home to so many amenities, my favourite part about my stay at Hotel X Toronto was the hospitality and dedication to creating a Canadian home away from home. Although very large, the hotel is laid out in a way that gives you a boutique-style feeling, plus, the staff was nothing shy of helpful, warm, and even fun!

Dining

The hotel has over 60,000 square feet of event space, in 17 different venues including boardrooms, ballrooms, parks, terraces, their epic Falcon SkyBar, and more. There are 7 distinct dining spots in the hotel, ranging from high-end restaurants to casual cafes, meaning you can find whatever suits your needs. Between the three-course meal we had in the evening, which included:

1. Appetizer: Roasted baby beets, caramelized pear, toasted pumpkin seeds, arugula, and smoked goat cheese salad;

2. Main: Cocoa braised beef short rib, parsnip puree, glazed baby carrots, merlot reduction;

3. Dessert

Did someone say, “dessert”?

... and the continental breakfast buffet in the morning… I was in absolute heaven. Honestly, the food was delish.

Tip: When visiting the Falcon SkyBar, be sure to ask for one of the signature cocktails by their in-house mixologist – my fave was the ‘cucumber chill’: YUM.

Having the opportunity to chat with a few of the masterminds behind the development of Hotel X Toronto, it was clear that they had put endless thought behind not just the physical construction of the hotel, but also the environment around it and the tone they wanted to set, reflecting an authentic Canadian experience for its guests — I believe Hotel X Toronto captures that.

Overall...

Between the incredibly unique views, the decadent food, the array of experiences available, the quality service, and attention to detail, this hotel has it all. Whether you’re looking to vacation, staycation, book a corporate meeting, wedding venue or party, Hotel X Toronto will surely show you luxurious Canadian hospitality.
